Elevated expressway atop Military/Spit Road corridor; bike & pedestrian paths plus local road below
Let's go up to deal with the traffic. Many cities have elevated roads. It would cost less than a tunnel, and allow space below for a single lane each way, plus generous pavements and separated bike path.
There is not a great deal of heritage or amenity along Military/Spit Road anyway. This will return the space to people.
On/off ramps could be at the top of Manly Road, Seaforth and in Neutral Bay at the junction with the Warringah Freeway.

Allow Senior Football to Be Played on Allan Border Oval
Mosman council plan to move Football from Alan Border oval and Middle Head Oval. I believe that Top level Football should be allowed to be played on the best ground, so that people can enjoy the ground and not waste it for half of the year.

Consolidate recyclables in one bin for weekly collection.
Separating mixed recyclables from paper is unnecessary and represents old technology. Nearby councils, such as North Sydney, and others worldwide engage service contractors that collect all recyclable material in the one bin.

Get power lines underground
New suburbs have underground power lines. Our suburb's vista is degraded by trees with no heart. My suggestions is that council work with electricity, telco and water utilities on a readability study to look at a new conduit for grey water lines, power, NBN, etc for Mosman streets. As an owner I would happily consider helping in a substantial way towards the cost of this exercise as it could only significantly improve the value of properties in streets which had lost the lines. It also provides an opportunity to put grey water mains into out streets and might be somewhat… more

Use some of that meter money to reglarly clean up Balmoral bushland and surrounds
I am a resident of Balmoral and like many others spend time each Sat. Sun and Mon mornings picking up all the bottles, bottle tops and rubbish left by visitors to the parks and foreshore of Balmoral. The contractors empty the bins, but nothing else. I noted that the park around Nth Syd Oval is kept spotless by a man who drives around constantly in a small electric vehicle picking up rubbish with a long set of tongs..can we have one too.

Transform Military Rd into a "high street" shopping experience
Imagine... Sydney's finest high street shopping experience - right here on Military Road Mosman. We can do this.. Target bringing to Australia amazing retail stores - the missing international names, involve our celebrities (they are hiding but they are here), give people what they really want - easy parking (sorry: sad fact is cars are a key factor of retail centre success), great facilities for parents with prams, clean toilets (yes very important), more protection from the rain, more destination dining options - ultimately lets make the relaxed outdoor feel that all Sydneysiders want. It will need to be managed… more

Youth Exchange to a sister country/city for 2 weeks
This would provide an opportunity for youth to excel in leadership and would allow for better relations with sister citys/countrys

More opportunities for youth leadership
If we provide the youth with opportunities in leadership, it would give the youth a way of leading towards a better Mosman

Make Better Use of Our Sporting Fields
I think that we should use our Sporting fields better, but not use the councils policy, which will just take ovals away from some sports. Instead better utilise what we already have, including putting up lights for night time so games and can training can be done at different times.

Demarcate on street parking at Mosman Bay ferry
Please paint lines to demarcate on-street parking bays in Avenue Rd at the Mosman Bay ferry, going up the hill. This will allow more cars to park as currently people park leaving large unncessary spaces !

Allow residents to park on their driveway in front of their garage without getting a parking ticket
I live in a street with a church and a school, at times it's impossible to park in my own street. If I could park on my driveway in front of my garage that would be help. There are 2 cars in my family.

One comprehensive pedestrian v car rules. No more shared access. One or other needs right of way.
Pedestrians in Mosman have the strange notion that the safety area in the middle of the roads therefore gives them right of way. I personally have nearly hit several people who just 'walked out in front of my approaching car' then look incredulously at me like I am in the wrong and should have given them right of way.
I find it frustrating when I am trying to teach my 5 year old the 'correct' road rules and nice meaning people stop in the middle of the road to let us cross. This may seem like a kind and generous… more5 votes -

Pedestrian Right of Way Zones
Mosman is overrun by cars and traffic just keeps getting worse and worse. Being a pedestrian however, is fraught with danger as many drivers won't drop a few clicks to let pedestrians cross roads in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Give residents an incentive to walk by providing zones giving pedestrians right of way over cars. A good example where this could work is around the Avenue Road shops. A zone of around 100 metres on Avenue Road and around 30 metres each on Canrobert Street and Ballantyne Streets would be enough. Trial it for a year and if it works extend it… more

Get Rid of Parking Meters
Parking meters run by Mosman Council, The National Parks and Wildlife Service and heaven knows who else have mushroomed in Mosman in the past year or so. They're eyesores, unfriendly to people and sneaky - they represent everything that's wrong with our modern lives. The only ones who like them are revenue raisers who use them because they can't or won't control their spending. Put up rates or entry fees if the money is truly needed, but get rid of these sneaky, modern blights on our way of life.

review building development hours of work
The allowable hours for construction from Monday to Friday is 7.00am until 6.00pm. This does not consider or impose any control for the duration or use of heavy equipment or machinery eg a jack hammer, generator or excavator during these hours.
Whilst it is fair and reasonable to allow renovation and development Council could very easily impose a number of sensible restrictions which would limit the level of noise allowable on a building site without unduly inhibiting the construction process eg prohibit the use of any diesel generator which is an extremely noisy power source. This would force building site… more2 votes
